a5c7b9f00b What can a manager of a luxury apartment do when he finds that the richest occupant, who turns to be an investment fraud, has taken the pension fund of the apartment's employees? Josh Kovaks, the manager, has nothing in hand but to go for the cash safety net of Arthur Shaw, the investment fraud. He forms a team with Slide, a crook; Odessa, Charlie and Enrique, his colleagues; and Fitzhugh, an evicted building resident. It's a challenge for them to keep away agent Claire's team away from the scene. The heist is planned on Thanksgiving to keep away distractions. The only challenge now for Josh and his team is the heist itself.
Josh Kovaks is the manager of a high-rise condominium in New York. He is close to all the tenants, especially financier Arthur Shaw. One day Shaw is arrested by the FBI for fraud. Josh thinks it's a misunderstanding that can be resolved, but later he learns that the employees' pension fund - which he asked Shaw to handle - is gone. When one of the employees tries to kill himself, Josh's views of Shaw change. He goes to see him and loses his temper, and his job. The FBI agent in charge tells him that Shaw might walk, and recovering the pension fund is unlikely. She tells him that it's been rumored that Shaw has $20 million lying around if he needs it in a hurry. Josh thinks he knows where it is, so with two other fired employees and an evicted tenant, they set out to get into Shaw's penthouse to get the money. But they realize they need the assistance of someone who knows how to steal, so Josh asks an old acquaintance named Slide who he knows is a thief to help them.
Tower Heist….Eddie Murphys return to mainstream comedy…Kind of

While this movie was no wherecleverit seems it does not fail to entertain. I was very bored with the first 20-30mins but I thinks thats because they were trying to set everything up so they could snowball it down at the end. After the jokes started falling the movie got good in a hurry. A lot of really good one liners by the main cast and a somewhat entertaining story line made the movie very likable. Stiller played a great role but he had an accent in some scenes and than in the next one it was gone, a little annoying but not terrible. I like the Cameo use of the last name Kovacs that was cool. The secondary cast like Gabourey Sidibe, and Michael Peña were for me the best parts of the movie. Pena is one of my favorite comedian actors right now, his timing is great. Murphy had some bright spotswell, all thou I would not say this was a "breakout" role for him it was good to see him be entertaining again on screen. This could open the door for Eddie to get a lot better roles in the future.

Overall the movie was good. The visuals were okay, but this wasn't an action movie so nothing huge was expected. Sound was a little low but not bad Storyline was solid, a few goofs ups but nothing too harmful Dialog was funny most of the time Twist was weak I am a sucker for a good comedy so I will give it right around a 7
When you look at a cast featuring some of the funniest men in Hollywood, you expect a great laugh-filled movie. Unfortunately, it fails to deliver. I waited for the entertaining parts from start to finish, and apart from the odd chuckle, there wasn't any.

Maybe it is because there are too many funny men in it, or just a poorly executed idea, I don't know. But, if you don't wait for the laughs, maybe you will enjoy it, but I for one expected laughs with Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller, and was sorely disappointed.

But, then again, maybe the highs of Stiller's comedic career(Zoolander, Tropic Thunder) make me expect more, and the same with Murphy.
A set piece involving a skyscraper and a sports car proves he can induce sweaty palms, but one nail-biting moment and some much-misssed Murphy mouthiness won't keep you from feeling like you're the one being ripped off.
A Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investment operation that pays returns to its investors from their own money or the money paid by subsequent investors, rather than from any actual profit earned by the individual or organization running the operation. The Ponzi scheme usually entices new investors by offering higher returns than other investments, in the form of short-term returns that are either abnormally high or unusually consistent. Perpetuation of the high returns requires an ever-increasing flow of money from new investors to keep the scheme going. The system is destined to collapse because the earnings, if any, are less than the payments to investors. Usually, the scheme is interrupted by legal authorities before it collapses because a Ponzi scheme is suspected or because the promoter is selling unregistered securities. As more investors become involved, the likelihood of the scheme coming to the attention of authorities increases. The scheme is named after Charles Ponzi who became notorious for using the technique in 1920. Ponzi did not invent the scheme (for example, Charles Dickens's 1857 novel Little Dorrit described such a scheme) but his operation took in so much money that it was the first to become known throughout the United States. Ponzi's original scheme was based on the arbitrage of international reply coupons for postage stamps; however, he soon diverted investors' money to make payments to earlier investors and himself.
